LOSS
Human Destruction of Habitats
Deforestation: It refers to the
decrease in forest areas across the
world that are lost for other uses
such as agricultural croplands,
urbanization, or mining activities.
Greatly accelerated by human
activities since 1960, deforestation
has been negatively affecting
natural ecosystems, biodiversity,
and the climate.
Industrial Logging
Soil Pollution:
Illegal dumping of the solid wastes,
polluted water absorbed by the
soil, use of chemical fertilizers and
pesticides, dumping of minerals,
oils, and radioactive wastes are the
major causes of soil pollution

Air Pollution:
Air pollution is caused by solid and
liquid particles and certain gases
that are suspended in the air. These
particles and gases can come from
car and truck exhaust, factories,
dust, pollen, mold spores, volcanoes
and wildfires.
Acid Rain effects on nature
Water pollution:
Pollution, overfishing, blast fishing,
canal construction, drilling, warming
oceans and many more. All of these
actions are destroying thousand of coral
reefs around the world, severely hurting
marine wildlife and destroying
ecosystems.

Habitat loss:
Habitat loss poses the greatest threat to
species. The world's forests, swamps, lakes, and
other habitats continue to disappear as they are
harvested for human consumption and cleared
to make way for agriculture, housing, roads,
pipelines and the other hallmarks of industrial
development.
How can we help?
By supporting sustainable mobility and sustainable food,
responsible consumption and recycling practices, reducing the
small actions that pollute, helping to raise awareness of the
smallest actions through environmental education, and ultimately
supporting any action aimed at protecting biodiversity.
The Great Pacific Garbage Patch
(GPGP) is a collection of marine
debris in the North Pacific
Ocean. Marine debris is litter
that ends up in the ocean, seas,
and other large bodies of water.
