Reflection Paper: Relate yourself to Rizal’s experience as a student?
Jose Rizal was chosen as our national hero because he fought for our independence
without sacrificing a life. He had believed that freedom may be attained by being educated.
He believed that ignorance is the reason why people couldn't attain independence. Moreover,
he believed that loving your country can be expressed in various ways.
I, as a Filipino, have always believed that it is not through fighting with bullets that we
would be set free. I have always also believed in education and what it can do for us. I like to
read and learn and observe what surrounds me. That way, I will be aware of the social issues
happening. Moreover, I believe that I should not have to pick any political side, but the
Philippines'. Because I choose to be more loyal to my country than to anyone else. I believe
that loving m country can be expressed in various ways. That starts with loving and caring for
my family, my neighbors, fellow Filipinos, and the environment in any way that I can.
