FUNDAMENTALS OF SENTENCE WRITING
Alternative Lesson Order for Older Students
RATIONALE: Older students (middle school and older) are using adjectives and all types of verbs in
their language and writing. By presenting adjectives, helping verbs, and complete verbs early on in the
instruction, students may be less confused by these concepts as they learn the various types of simple
sentences.
