WINTER CRASH ON HIGHWAY 400

The Ontario Provincial Police, Barrie division, continue to investigate a crash at this hour. The
pile-up occurred on Highway 400 just south the City of Barrie. The crash occurred during the
morning rush hour just after 7:30am. Whiteout, ice and zero visibility were the conditions
affecting driving at the time.
OPP continue to investigate the following;
- north and southbound lanes are still closed
- 70 vehicles involved
- many minor injuries
- two people died
- Highway closure estimated to remain for at least five hours.
