Scope and Approach: English 1100 will provide students with a firm foundation in the following

Deadlines and Academic Fraud: Late assignments will not be accepted without a medical
certificate or proof of emergency. Please reread the preceding sentence. Forms of
academic fraud include improper, missing, or made-up bibliographic information, passing
off others' work as one's own, turning in the same assignment for more than one class,
collaborative efforts when individual work is requested. ALL forms of academic dishonesty
are prohibited and if detected may result in failure of the assignment, failure of the course, or

Attendance: Regular class attendance is mandatory. Class discussion is impromptu and cannot be
appreciated or even understood unless you are there. Trust me: attend, understand, work and
