half man and half bull. You will be the head of Ganas and
the guardian of Kailsa. From today you will live in Kailasa
with me.

Dice game. We need an umpire to judge the game. You be
the umpire.

and devotion ; declared Lord Shiva as winner and said that
Devi Parvathy has lost the game. Devi Parvathy became
very angry and punished Nandi.

you had to be impartial. But you wrongly declared Lord
Shiva to be winner. I punish you. You will have a dreadful
disease. But I see that you have done it out of your love and
devotion to lord Shiva. If you want to come out of this
punishment, pray and offer Ganesha your favourite food.
12. Nandi(kannan) : Oh lord Ganesha , Help me. I did all
this out of love for my lord Shiva. Kindly free me from this
disease. I offer you my favourite food – green grass. Please

churning ocean, along with the amrutam, halahala also
came. Everyone was scared what would happen. But lord
Shiva drank the halala and saved the world. All devas
thanked and praised lord shiva for his generosity and
kindness.
15. Nandi:(kannan) My lord Shiva is very happy. Whenever
he’s happy he will do this tandava dance. Lord ,I will play
mridangam for you and you can dance between my horns.
16.
Shiva(sai adarsh) : Nandi I’m pleased with your love
and devotion. But due to drinking halahala poison I’m
unable to meditate peacefully. From now on you will
always sit in front of me and blow air on my throat to ease
the burning. I also grant you the boon that whoever wishes
to share something with me, they have to tell it in your
ears. After my meditation you can let me know their
wishes.
17. Narrator 7 (sai vishwajit): This is the reason that all
Shiva temples have a statue of Nandi in front of the Idol.
Today also whenever people go to Shiva temple they will
tell their wishes and desires in Nandi’s ears.

finger on Nandi’s horns and see through them, we can see
lord Shiva dancing between Nandi’s horn.
