SIMPLE SENTENCE
Simple sentence-a sentence consisting
of only one clause, with a single
subject and predicate.
◦Subject - a person or thing that is being
discussed, described in a sentence.
◦Predicate- the part of a sentence or clause
containing a verb and stating something
about the subject .
EXAMPLES:

COMPOUND
SENTENCE
Compound sentence
 are made up of two simple sentences or
independent clauses connected by a
coordinating conjunction.
He is eating fast food every day, so he got fat.
Alkan practiced everyday and he won the race.
Coordinating conjunction- connects
two simple sentences to form a
compound sentence.

Or
Yet
So
For- having the purpose of: because
of or as a result of something.
1. Ayesha is trying her best for she wished to be
on top of her class.
2. Zhian was awarded to be the best in the team
for he had trained very hard.
And- used to introduce an additional
comment.
1. Ezekiel is an honor pupil and he is an active
athlete.
2. Ashika loves singing and she is also good in
dancing.
3. Al Nidzfar wanted to become a soldier and his
parents supported him.
Nor- used to introduce a further
negative statement.
1. Ben didn’t study nor did he care to pass.
2. I'm not rich, nor do I wish to be.
3. I don’t eat vegetables nor do I eat
fruits.
But-an argument against something;
an objection.
1. We want to travel but we are still on
pandemic.
2. Ej wanted to join the zoom but they
don’t have internet connection.
3. Maher likes to play outside but his
mother do not allow him to.
Or - used to link alternatives.
1. I think will wash my clothes or I will
just play ML.
2. I will share food to my neighbor or I
will just give it to my friend.
3. Shana told me to go to their house
or we will meet at the plaza.
Yet - still; even (used to emphasize
increase or repetition).
1. Alberto memorized his poem yet he
forgot some lines during the
competition.
2. Mik is very studious yet he failed to
answer the Math problem.
3. Akmhar slept early yet he woke up
late.
So-and for this reason; therefore.
