Definitions
Text - the original words and form of a written or printed work
Events - noteworthy happenings in a story
Mood - the prevailing, or main, emotion in the scene or text
Setting - the time, place, and conditions in which the action of a book, movie, etc., takes place
Plot - the plan or main story (as of a movie or literary work)
Exposition - the beginning of a story, when the setting is established and main characters are
introduced
Rising action - the section of a story that leads toward its climax
Climax - the point of highest dramatic tension or a major turning point in the action
Falling action - what happens near the end of a story after the climax and resolution of the major
conflict
Resolution - the final section of a story's plot, in which loose ends are tied up
