In 2001 and 2011, she earned her Adolescent/Young Adult Literacy certificate from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. Her experience includes 18 years in the classroom teaching English 9, English 10, English 11, English 12, AP English Language & Composition, Creative Writing, and Newspaper Journalism; and three years as a curriculum specialist for 6th through 12th grade English Language Arts.
