will be covered with finish materials. Examples may include the following:
 Erecting framing members
 Erecting concrete forms
 Building docks, bridges, and supports

The portion of the carpentry trade associated with interior and exterior trim,
cabinetry, siding, wall finishes, and decorative work.
 Building stairs
 Installing doors, cabinets, wood paneling and molding
 Installing acoustical tile

8. Explain how the duties are different for a carpenter if you work with a large
firm or smaller firm.
Carpenters who work for a large firm may specialize in only one area, such as
laying hardwood flooring. Carpenters working for a small company or themselves
may have multiple specialties and may build wall frames, put in insulation and
install paneling. They may even do concrete work, welding and painting.
9. Explain what “Willingness to take responsibility” means.
Carpenters must be willing to see what is to be done and go ahead and do
it. Duties should be performed without further direction.
10.Explain what tardiness means and why employers do not want their
workers to be tardy.
Being late for work. It leads to poor work habits, unprofessional conduct and a
lack of commitment to your contractor.
