SLOWELY ... GLOOM AND MYSTERY
* The phantom is described as a very somber ( dark) wearing a
cloak. He is silent and grim ( gloomy) a direct contrast of the
ghosts of past and present.
* though Christmas as all of the ghosts attempt to show scrooge
is a time when generosity and clarity are suppose to exist , but if
scrooge doesnot change his ways his future Christmas will be one
full of misery and despair ( sadness)
* This ghost shows scrooge the unkown and the unseen fate that
he is heading for as it will be something to fear. ( the image of
the outstretched hand )
Q3. “ If he wanted to keep………… alone by himself”
The ghost brings scrooge to another vision to a room where
people are picking a part the belongings of the deceased man .
 The woman argues that if this man was kinder would have
given those stuff to whoever he chose.
 We learned that this man died alone ( gasping his last
breath alone). ( solitary death)
 He was taught by this ghost if he was kinder and generous
people would have had surrounded his death bed.
 Scrooge soon learn that empathy and kindness far more
worth than gold and the company of the loved ones during
or after one’s life.
Q5.
“Scrooge crept….; Ebenezer scrooge”
 The final scene where the ghost take scrooge to the grave
yard .
 Scrooge demands to finally know who is the deceased man ,
he is finally able to see the neglected grave belonged to him.
 He is destined to die alone as no one was there to love and
care for him , he has been rejoiced by others especially by
those who he wronged in life .
 Scrooge has promised to change and to be generous 365
days a year.
