Part 1. SETTING UP
1
You will need three things
1. Mendeley Desktop App (Reference manager)
Access step: Ulink > UJ tools> Mendeley (it’ll redirect to www.Mendeley.com )> “Create free
account”(it’ll redirect to Elsevier) > ‘’Sign in via institution” (Image 1).
Once logged in :
Download the app and install and open app for next step
2. Mendeley Web-exporter (Browser Extension)
3.Mendeley cite for word(Plugin)
Access steps : Open app and click as shown in image 3,then
follow instructions.
Part 2. USING.
1. Mendeley desktop app(referencing manager).
This is where you organize your references, create collections,
edit reference details e.t.c.
2. Mendeley Web-Exporter (Browser Extension)
-First Your extension should be appearing on your Extensions’ band.
- Open any online source (e.g. google scholar, research gate or any online
document…) and click the Mendeley extension to add to your library of
references
3. Mendeley cite for word (Intext and bibliography)
-open word>references>Mendeley cite.
