When overall looking at the shape of a football that
would be depicted on a piece of paper if it were to
be traced, it is clear that it is the best real life
resemblance of an ellipse. This could be tied to the
general concept that the football has a polar axis
larger than the equatorial diameter of the football
itself. It’s thanks to the ellipse like shape of the
football that the football is able be thrown,
however with greater complexity than a round ball.
In this speci c example due to the idea that the
major axis is horizontal, that would lead to the fact
that the equation that represents my conic in its
standard form would be (x-h)^2 / a^2 + (y-k)^2 / b^2 =1.
