ALTERNATIVE GRADING SYSTEM GUIDELINES

PAO No. 18 – ACA, s. 2021 provided that the college shall conduct discernment process
before giving the Dropped due to Covid and Dropped Unofficially mark. For the
guidance of everyone, the following guidelines shall be undertaken:
1. The college shall deliberate on all of the courses taken by the student. This is to
avoid courses being marked with DU while some courses will have grades/INC
or Dropped due to Covid mark. For a certain student, combination of with
grades + INC + Dropped due to Covid is acceptable, but DU + Dropped due to
Covid or INC is not. This will reflect that the college did not conduct discernment
process.
2. The servicing colleges shall coordinate with the respective college of the
student.
3. The college after deliberation shall submit to the OSVPAA their
recommendation on all of the subjects of the student.
4. The SVPAA will provide approval on the recommendation provided by the
college.
5. After approval, the result will be communicated by the college to the faculty
concerned for encoding in the CRS.
Encoding of grades in the CRS is extended up to July 6, 2021.
