Glossary
Clinical protocol: (also called a clinical guideline, medical guideline or clinical practice guideline)
is a document with the aim of guiding decisions and criteria regarding diagnosis, management,
and treatment in specific areas of healthcare.
Venous thromboembolism (VTE): A collective term for both 'deep vein thrombosis' (DVT) and
'pulmonary embolism' (PE). A DVT is a blood clot in the deep veins of the leg.
