ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
INTERIM POLICY GUIDELINES ON ASSESSMENT AND
GRADING IN LIGHT OF BE-LCP
INSET 2020, Day 1- December 14, 2020
The In-Service Training for teachers 2020 started with the topic,
Interim Policy Guidelines on Assessment and Grading in Light of BE-LCP (DO
31 S. 2020) conducted by the Mathematics Coordinator, Mr. Jean Marie L.
Dulay. The aim of the INSET is that: 1. Teachers and parents must adapt to
alternative learning modalities to ensure that learners achieve essential
curricular goals; 2. Assessment should be used to inform and improve
classroom practices and promote learning outcomes utilizing alternative tools
and strategies not causing undue pressures on teachers, learners, and their
families.
Since, we are experiencing a Global Pandemic, which is the COVID-19,
assessment for the new normal, Distance Learning Delivery has also changed
and simplified. There were policy statement showed in the presentation where
it highlights the teachers, school leaders, learners, and parents must commit
to uphold the integrity of learning and instruction in the context of distance
education. The session also showed the procedures and how to plan the
assessment. Different assessment tools in the modular learning, on what to
record and not to compute and record and to be computed.
Meanwhile, Mr. Dulay also discussed how to conduct assessment
remotely. In this topic, it has been reiterated that constant communication to
the learners as well as the parents should be done. Parents then have a big

role in reminding their children to accomplish the different tasks in their
modules by their help and guidance.
In the afternoon session, Grading and Promotion was tackled first where the
challenges brought to light by the coronavirus pandemic, specifically the
implementation of different distance learning delivery modalities, have a larger
conversation about the role of grades play in student learning, prompting education
sectors to rethink traditional grading schemes. It has been presented the weighted
average and percentage of each subject area where written works and performance
tasks are the only areas to be computed. With this topic, the teachers were grouped
by field of specialization to compute manually the given scores presented. Reporting
each group was also done and compared to other learning areas.
The session ended successfully with the full cooperation of each participants.
It was indeed a fruitful and productive day.

ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
SCHOOL-BASED MANAGEMENT (SBM)
INSET 2020, Day 5- December 18, 2020
On the 5th day of the In-Service Training for Teachers (INSET) 2020, the topic
School-Based Management System (SBM) was conducted by the School SBM
Coordinator herself, Mrs. Chateline S. Dulay and one of the team leaders of SBM
under Curriculum and Instruction, Mr. Christian Ea. The said INSET was a whole
day activity, which aims to tackle the following objectives; a. to be oriented effectively
on the background and rationale of SBM practices;
b. to review the principles of SBM, SBM assessment process and the parts of the
SBM Assessment Tool with contextualized Means of Verification; c. to assess level of
SBM Level of Practice ; and d.to update documents of SBM in each dimension.
Mrs. Chateline S. Dulay discussed the background and rationale of SBM
wherein there are four dimensions namely; Leadership and Governance; Curriculum
and Instruction; Accountability and Continuous Improvement; and Management of
Resources. Each dimension has indicators and Means of Verifications (MOVs) that
need to produce for the computation of Level of Practice. Each dimension also have
team leaders and members that has been organized/reorganized last June in
Santiago National High School. This is to facilitate the organization of documents to
prepare and produce and for teachers to work as a team since SBM is the totality of
all the activities/programs in school.
The competencies of a Distict/School SBM Coordinator and its duties and
responsibilities were also tackled in the said INSET. This is to familiarize and be
oriented everyone what to expect from the SBM Coordinator. On the other hand, Mr.

Christian Ea also tackled the “Assessing the SBM Level of Practice” where he showed
the computation of the different indicators in each dimension. Participants where
also asked to perform computation for them be familiarize how is the computation of
SBM Level of Practice is being done.
In the afternoon session, a workshop was done by each group (dimension) lead
by the team leaders. They were tasked to give orientation and give updates on the
documents that need to prepare and produce. Each members of the group has their
own assignment or task to accomplish, compile or produce based from their
dimension. Each group also had the Self-Assessment Level of Practice to know the
status of the school in terms of the produced documents.
The session ended successfully with the full cooperation of each participants.
It was indeed a fruitful and productive day.

ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
CULMINATING ACTIVITY
(Finalization of Outputs)
INSET 2020, Day 6- December 19, 2020
The INSET 2020 has come to an end. Different learnings and
insights were absorbed in the 5-day seminar-workshop. To end the said
activity, finalization of outputs have been conducted as a culmination
activity of the year’s INSET.
Participants were tasked to report their accomplishment of what
has been transpired from the very first day of the INSET until the last
day.
Different
speakers
were
gathered
as
one
to
check
the
accomplishments and outputs individually and even by group.
A closing program was also conducted to formally end the INSET
2020. A recognition to speakers was also held as a symbol of
appreciation and giving their efforts and invaluable service rendered.
Same with the participants where they were given Certificate of
Participant. It was indeed a very meaningful learning to everyone.
Teachers are fully equipped with knowledge and skills ready to serve
the learners and the community.
