Renaissance Europe: Chapter 1 – Short Story
Write a short story, with you being the main character, about a person in medieval Europe.
Write the story from a first person point of view (use “I”).
You can be a:
-
Serf / Freeholder / Peasant
-
Lord of the Manor (Noble)
-
Tradesperson in Town
-
Bishop / Baron
In your story, include one of the following factors and how your character reacts to it:
-

-
Changing Technology (p.26)
-
Increase in Wealth & Skills (p. 27)
-
Peasant Revolts (p.24)
-
Changing ideas about religion (p. 34)
Your story should include a beginning, a middle, and an end. It can be in the form of a diary entry, a
letter, a play, a dialogue, a comic, etc. Your story should be at least one page long and focus on one of
the important factors impacting life in the Middle Ages. Make sure that you describe your character –
include visuals if you wish – and how they feel about what is happening in the world around them. Use
your textbook if needed.
