IRONY
Irony:
is when there is a difference between what appears to be happening
and what is actually happening or from what is being said and what is being
ment.
Ex) when a character or reader expects or assumes one thing and the
opposite is true
Types of Irony:
-there are three types of irony
1. Verbal Irony:
-is when an author says one thing and means something else
-the reader must read between the lines
2. Dramatic Irony:
-is when the reader knows something that the characters do
not.
3. Situational Irony:
- is when the outcome is a surprise to both the reader and the
character
