What I Can Do
Recently, mother bought an ice cooler in the mall. The length is three meters longer than its
width. The area of the ice cooler is 40 square meters. Find the length and the width of the plot.
Solution:
Length = x
Width = x + 3
x (x + 3) = 40
x2 + 3x = 40
x2 + 3x – 40 = 0
(x + 8) (x -5)
