Stage Play
Curtain Open
(Three children are on the set one is decorating a christmas tree center stage behind a
chiar, another one is reading a story book, the other child is eating some cereals. The
child eating cereals observes the child decorating the tree and looks disapproving)
Child eating: Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas, I don’t feel it and I don’t know about
you.
( He drops the bowl and stands up moves to the stage right, facing the
crowd, the other children looking surprised)
Merry Christmas, Merry christmas, Merry Christmas Merry Christmas
What is all the noise about?
(The child decorating has had enough, the child stomps to the left stage front and
smirking starts to sing)
Decorating Child: Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas Merry Christmas, Merry
Christmas
I love it and I will tell you why
(He looks at the other child, dancing to the center stage)

Santa’s gonna give me a present, I am going to travel out, I don know

(Dancing right in the face of the first child, looks at the audience) You
should love it too
( The child reading the book sits up, whiles the other two are about to fight, she comes
in between them, walks like some one with wisdom, holds both their hands to center
stage and all three sit down. She looks at both of them and shakes her head)
Reading Child: The two of you don’t know what christmas is about, Yes it is holiday
that starts in the
Church and celebration for every one, but just like Ramadan it has its
own deep
Meaning, especially to a young virgin that was pregnant.
Child eating: (Laughs hysterically) A pregnant virgin really, so christmas is the
celebraton of a fairy tale.
Decorating child: ( Stands up and twirls) I love fairy tales, they make me happy

(She looks at her friends) Once upon a time
Curtains close
Act 2
(curtains open to a kitchen, a girl is cooking, a bright light flashes in her face and an
angel appears, the light scare her, she looks afraid but does not run away)
Gabriel: Mary dear child do not be afraid. (No response) I am Gabriel your angel
Mary: I have an angel… but I am not a prophet
Gabriel: You my child are special and highly favoured among women, you shall bear a
son and his name
shall be called Jesus
Mary: Wow that is good news when I get married to my darling Joseph we shall have a
son. I would not
have to wait long to have a baby. ( She begins to dance and
rejoice)
Gabriel: No child, you are pregnant now. (He laughs kindly)
Mary: I am not yet married how can I be pregnant
Gabriel: The Holy-Spirit child. The Holy-Spirit has made you pregnant.
Mary: Wow I am pregnant with the baby Jesus. I am pregnant with the baby Jesus. (She
dances)
( Choir comes in singing, Silent Night)
Scene 3
(The wedding: Mary and Joseph are seen sitted down, The wedding will be done in
Asain Style)
The Priest: I here by present you husband and wife
(Everyone shouts in jubilation as party goes on, A soldier Rides in holding a scroll)
Joseph: Please sir why are you interrupting our beautiful celebration
Soldier: King Herod has said that everyone should travel to their different villages for a
censor.
Priest: Everyone it is time to travel.
Joseph: Yes we are going to Bethlehem but before then let us celebrate my wedding.
(Choir enters and sings oh little town of Bethlehem)
Scene 4
(Mary looks heavily pregnant, she and Joseph have just arrived)
Joseph: Could you please let us in.
Inn Keeper 1: No sir, our inn is full
(He carries his already wailing wife to another inn)
Joseph: Please sir could my wife give birth here
Inn Keeper2: Am sorry sir no space.
Mary: Oh Lord please help me, I know you are with me.
(Joseph holds her hand and both kneel to pray silently)
Manger Manager: Hallo, I am a manger manager. I have a little manger can you manage
the manger, with horses and sheep and chicken
Joseph : Yes thank you, thank you we will mange the manger, manger manager.
Manger Manager: Ok then
(Both men carry Mary of stage, Choir enters and sings once in a royal David city)
Scene 4
(Sheperds are caring for sheep, a great light shines. A shepherd tries to run, but then a
choir of angels appear)
Choir: Hark the herald Angels sing
Glory to the new born king
Peace on earth and Mercy mild
God and sinners reconcile
Joyful all you nations rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With angelic Host proclaim
Christ is born in Bethlehem
Sheperd1 : Wow the savior is born
Shepherd 2: The savior is born
Sheperd 3: Jesus is born let us go and worship the new born king
(All exit, a sheep follows them quietly)
Sheep: I also want to meet this new born king, that brought magical voices from the
sky.
Choir comes to stage and sings long time ago in Bethlehem
Scene 5
(We see Mary, Joseph, the sheperds and baby Jesus on the stage, The star comes in
unnoticed, the three wise come inside)
1st wise man: Greetings we have come all the way from the east following the star.
2nd wise man: We have come to worship Christ the new born king
3rd wise man: Here are our gifts
1st wise man: Gold
2nd wise man: Frakinsence
3rd wise man: Mryy
Mary: Wow thank you very much
(Joseph takes the gifts from them)
Choir comes in and sing Joy to the world

Scene 1
Back at the house
Reading child: That is the end friends
Other 2: Wow what an amazing story
Decorating Child: I love christmas
Reading Child: I love Christmas
All: Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas
Let us all rejoice
