Effects of Overweight and
.Obesity in 195 Countries over 25 Years
□ Journal:The New England journal of
.medicine
.Date accepted:6July ,2018
.Author: Murray
□ Title:Health
:BACKGROUND and AIM
Several epidemic logic studies demonstrated in
association in high body mass index or BMI and
chronic conditions , such as a cardiovascular
disease , Diabetes mellitus , chronic liver disease
.and many cancers
Aim:clarify the relationship between high BMI and
.diseases
METHODS
Since prevalence of all of obesity
and overweight is increasing in
world wide.The overtness and in
impact prevalence global burden of
.diseases are uncertain
In this study , if 68.5 million of people
from 195 countries trend in the
prevalence of overweight and obesity
among children and adults between
1990 and 2015. Using the Global
Burden of Disease study data and
.methods
Investigators are quantified between
the burden of disease related to high
body-mass index (BMI), according to
age, sex, cause, and BMI in 195
.countries between 1990 and 2015
:RESULTS
Amount of children and adults
between 1990-2015 , standard body
mass index curve point to define
overweight and obesity among children
. and adult
In 2015 , they over global prevalence
of obesity in children is 5% and in
.adult is 12%
Global prevalence of obesity , 2015
Among two most popular countries , the
high prevalence of obesity in 2015 is
subservient in Egypt is 35.5%
and the lowest in Vietnam is 1.6% .
The highest prevalence of childhood obesity
in the united state had 12.7% , and the
lowest in Bangledash had 1.2%
Excess way contributed to 4 million deaths
globally, newly 4% of which according to BMI in
.the<30
Other global mortality to high BMI increased from
41.9% over 100.000 in 1990 to 53.7% over 100.000 in
2015
.is 11.3
More than two thirds of deaths related to high
BMI due to cardiovascular disease
Global High-BMI Death Rate
:Discussion
In our systematic evaluation of the health effects of high BMI,
we found that excess body weight accounted for about 4 million
deaths in 2015. Nearly 70% of the deaths that were related
to high BMI were due to cardiovascular disease, and more than
60% of those deaths occurred among obese persons. The
prevalence of obesity has increased during the past three decades
and at a faster pace than the related disease
burden. However, both the trend and magnitude of the
.BMI-related disease burden vary widely across countries
CONCLUSIONS
The rapid increase in the prevalence and
disease burden of elevated BMI
highlights the need for continued focus
on surveillance of BMI and
identification, implementation, and
evaluation of evidence-based
.interventions to resolve this problem
