How might we enable people to adopt more sustainable practices?
In recent years, humans have realised that our present choices and actions
have significant long-term impacts on future generations. Sustainable practices
seek to ensure that we make ethical choices that can bring about a safe and
livable future for humanity. Though many technologies and processes have
been introduced in pursuit of this goal, adoption of these technologies remains
lacking.
Sustainable environmental practices can be incorporated into various aspects
of human society:

Home & Living

Recreation

Farming & Agriculture

Manufacturing

Etc.
More and more youths have been playing significant roles in spearheading the
development of sustainable solutions and practices. As ideators, we would like
you to suggest solutions that would enable people to adopt more sustainable
practices.
WORK
How can we create conditions in our respective workplaces for better
work-life harmony?
In its latest 2021 study, a tech company, Kisi, ranked Singapore as the 2nd
most overworked city in the world. Even with work-from-home being the norm
due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many employees still seem unable to find a
healthy work-life balance. There is an inherent struggle created when
separating work from rest in the house - especially in an environment that sees
emails being sent after office hours and on weekends.
Many who have recognised this imbalance are pushing for better work-life
harmony in Singapore. Some companies have opted to trial 4-day work weeks;
others are offering greater incentives and welfare for its employees. As
university students, most of you are on the last leg of your educational journey
before fully committing to your careers.
As ideators, we would like you to suggest solutions that would enable employers
and employees to create better work-life harmony.
PLAY
How might we create opportunities that can encourage stronger
bonds between youth and seniors?
As we progress towards the year 2022, Singapore’s greying population will
continue to grow. By 2030, every one in four Singaporeans will be aged 65 or
above. This reality calls for significant efforts to assist the elderly in ageing
gracefully.
One key to successful ageing is to create meaningful connections and
experiences. Many organisations propose involving youths in playing a
significant role in their ageing? Both youths and the elderly have much to gain
from inter-generational relations. Ageing is definitely a journey better shared.
As ideators, we would like you to suggest solutions that would create
opportunities to encourage stronger bonds between youth and seniors in our
community.
