It thrives at different periods in history and were
mostly a result of intercultural exchange and
contact. It is seen among around the globe.

of Dance
It is a rhythmic and expressive movement of the body in
successive movement usually accompanied by music.
It is said to be the mother of arts, and it’s the oldest of the art
which reflect man’s old age that needs to communicate to
different emotions.
Dance simply started as man’s own life for entertainment or
for any occasions.
There are different expressions while human being are
dancing.

One of the physical benefit of dancing is that it is a great
cardio workout which people can considerably lessen the risks
of getting heart disease. Addition to that dancing could
contribute to one’s physical confidence.
Another benefit of dancing is that it helps improve balance and
keep the center of gravity within the body stable.
The list will go on forever but improvements in coordination
and spatial awareness results from dancing since dancing
involves all parts of the body to move fluidly to the beat of
music and coordination is a very important aspect when it
comes to synchronization.

According to Ravelin et. Al (2006) One of the suggested
benefits of dance is that it can be used as an interception in
mental health nursing as it was revealed that dance offers an
acceptable way to release the emotional pressure a human
being is dealing with.
To sum it up, dancing heightens one’s mental ability and
cognitive thinking since when you dance ou absorb, retain and
execute movements that is why children who are involved in
dance tend to be more creative which enables the child to
focus, explore in any area of education.

Dancing provides a unique opportunity for meaningful group
involvement as it encourages intense, positive social
interaction and interpersonal relationships in a working group.
They believe that “it contributes to each individual’s potential
for the fullest possible self-actualization in society.”(Kraus and
Gaufman, 1981)
A research paper about a dance for Parkinson’s disease was
conducted last 2014. It tells about creating a framework for
dance for Parkinson’s research that will enable an analysis of
the dancing experience which as mentioned from the paper
that with a strong focus on how dance may affect functional
movements and improve symptoms for people with
Parkinson’s.

Dance promotes a place or a country’s rich culture through
showcasing the different cultural dances. The people around
the world are brought to “a closer understanding of the people
represented and to an appreciation of their respective folk
cultures” through folk dances of a specific country. (Duggan,
Sclottmann, Rutledge, 1948)
An article was written about cultural dance as a review of
literature it was mention that Cultural dance is a practical form
of physical activity to promote physical and mental health
among subgroups of populations that often have lower
amounts of participation in physical activity

There are varied answers why people would love to dance.
The list goes on and on however here are some examples of
reasons why people are interested in dancing:

Good for bones and joints
Build confidence

Performance Task
The students are required to dance a folk using the common
dance terms. For example: SALUDO, HAYON-HAYON,
HAPAY, ARMS IN LATERAL POSITION, POINT STEP,
BRUSH STEP, ETC…
Submission of folk dance performance video will be on August
26, 2021 (Thursday)
