times of flood. This can improve the fertility
of the soil. It consists of silt, sand,
clay, and gravel, & organic matters.

At time of flood coarser material which are heavier and coarser material will be deposited first at both edge of rive banks.
Repeated flooding, more and more coarser material such as pebbles, gravel even boulders will be deposited forming raise river
banks called levees. Finer materials such as clay and silt will be transported further away from the channel and deposited
on the floodplain.
