Consider population-level interventions that aim to achieve health-related behavior change (mass media, financial incentives, etc.) along with everything you learned this week about behavior change. What do you think would be the most effective plan or method for improving health-related behavior at the population level? Write your recommendations along with your reasoning supported by at least one of the readings. Feel free to also include your own innovative ideas for achieving population-level health. The Learning Journal entry should be a minimum of 400 words and not more than 750 words. Use APA citations and references if you use ideas from the readings or other sources. There are many kinds of population-level interventions that aim to achieve health-related behavior change. The behaviour change method promotes health all through particular changes in lifestyle that are suitable to people’s settings (Glenn Laverack, 2017). sh is ar stu ed d v i y re aC s o ou urc rs e eH w er as o. co m After thoroughly analysing the health-related the behaviour of the general population in my area. The first and foremost intervention that genuinely and purely targets the general population of my area is health awareness. Not all people in my local area are educated enough to know the biological reasons behind any disease. They do not know that there are different kinds of viruses and bacteria causing diseases these days. Educating people about the importance of hand hygiene in preventing such bacteria and viruses from spreading will be very beneficial in achieving health-related behaviour change (WHO, 2019). Lots of anti-vaccination campaigns are being launched in different parts of the world in the recent world which is also a behaviour related to the health of our young generation. There have been different views and thoughts about vaccination in these days, but one study shows that media exposure has been proven to increase the demand of vaccinations (Ben-Gurion University and Soroka University Hospital, 2018). These kinds of exposure are it news from all around the world regarding the drawbacks of not vaccinating newborn or the television advertisement on the negative impacts of not vaccinating the newborn in future. The media has also covered the news of an increasing case of measles in the United Kingdom in recent years which is directly related to not vaccinating children against measles. Th Furthermore, in developing countries where there is not much funding in health sector different other initiatives can be launched such as free dental checkup or women health checkup camps can be established to promote women health or the dental health of that area to bring in health-related behavioral change (Nectar Digit, 2020). These initiatives and camps are generally organized by different non-governmental and privately funded organizations with the intention of benefiting and promoting health-related behavior. This is an example of the financial incentives in encouraging public to take care of themselves. Among all the interventions mentioned above, I find the mass media initiative more appealing and effective. In today’s world of technology, everyone is into the idea of trying different means of information technology and television is one of the most common mode of delivering information these days.
