Advantages:
- Knowledge sharing across the company (Enable all the acquired
knowledge over the years to be in a centralized location for
current/future use)
- Enable engineers to write technical journals (later extended to
external papers, etc.)
- Efficiency improvement (Knowledgeable individual is not over
occupied and at the same time enable all engineers to get the needed
inputs without waiting for someone’s time)
Procedure:
- Engineer picks up a topic that he/she is working on (or) already
worked on
- Write detailed technical journal on the chosen topic
- Engineer submits the Tech Diary to his reporting manager (or)
Domain Expert
- Manager/Expert reviews the Tech Diary and approves the
document
- Once approved, the document goes live
What can be part of Tech Diary:
- Topics could be on architecture or design tips or simulation
strategy or bump map basics or package excel filling or ESD basics or
PnR ECO flow or Lib generation flow or any topics that shall be re-used
across groups in the company for benefit of other engineers or projects
