Periodic table coloring project:

1. NOBLE GASES: Highlight all the element boxes in column 8A (except element 118) and FILL with
a LIGHT ORANGE color. These are the Noble gases. Fill in the Legend circle (at the bottom of the
page) for Noble Gases with this color.
Look for the paint can icon to change the square color
2. METALLOIDS: FILL the cells for Elements 5, 14, 32, 33, 51, 52 and 84 with a LIGHT GREEN color.
These are the Metalloids. Be sure to fill in the Legend box for Metalloids.
3. NON-METALS: Using LIGHT YELLOW, FILL the cells for the elements between the Metalloids and
the Noble gases. These are the Non-Metals. (elements with Atomic Numbers: 1, 6,7,8,9,15, 16,
17, 34, 35, 53 and 85) FILL your Legend circle to reflect the Non-Metals.
4. METALS: Using LIGHT BLUE—FILL EVERYTHING ELSE EXCEPT elements with atomic numbers: 43,
61 and 93-118. These are the Metals. FILL in the circle for Metals in your Legend.
5. All the UNFILLED ones should stay as they are. These are the SYNTHETIC elements.
6. Using a LIGHT PINK color, fill in box that contains the group # above each column (# 1 -18).
7. Using a LIGHT PURPLE color, fill in the box that contains the number of each row/period (1 – 7).
8. Use the completed Periodic Table to answer the Activity Questions.
9. SAVE your document and upload a copy to Empower in the Periodic Table Coloring Activity.
