Regents Physics Lab #10: Angled Projectiles (Football Flick)
For this lab, you will be investigating the motion of a projectile launched at an angle. Your projectile will be paper
football which you “flick” off the ground.
1. Launch the football from the ground, and record its
trajectory using video on your phone.
2. Measure the height of 1 brick on the wall, and the length
of 1 tile on the floor.
3. Pause the video when the football reaches its maximum
height. Use the height of the brick to determine the max
height of the football.
4. Similarly, use your video to determine the range of the
football.
5. Repeat these steps until you get 5 comparable data sets.

For all calculations, show your work, including the equation and substitution with units.
1. Calculate viy.
2. Calculate total time of flight.
3. Calculate vx.
4. Calculate the launch velocity (initial velocity).
5. Determine the launch angle.
