Gravitational Forces Project

advertisement
TEKS: (A) research and describe the historical development of the concepts of gravitational,
electromagnetic, weak nuclear, and strong nuclear forces;
(B) describe and calculate how the magnitude of the gravitational force between two objects
depends on their masses and the distance between their centers;
This is primarily an in class project consisting of
● Independent research
● Notes
● Practice problems
● Quiz to show mastery
Each portion will be worth 25 points to total a major grade. If you are caught copying another
paper for any of these sections both you and the person you copied from will be docked all 25
points for the entire section. You may work WITH someone on problem sets, but the rest is to
be completed independently.
Research: All research must be turned in on regular 8.5 X 11 paper. They do not have to be
typed, but still neatly done. Typing is encouraged if possible and remember this is a major
grade.
●
Find and watch 3 videos on Newton’s life or the Fundamental Force of gravity and
document a page of your findings. At the bottom include what the three had in common
and what you found most interesting. You must list the source for your videos. They can
not be a video that was used for the notes section.
●
Write a one page obituary for Newton covering his life with a focus on gravitational
motion. Include a graphic.
●
Create an infographic over gravitational motion and Newton. This option must be typed
and please look at examples of infographics first. This is a good site that explains what
an infographic is NOT if you choose this option:
