I have chosen this article because I would like to know the acoustic quality
in classroom of UMN. This topic is also in my interest and part of my
major in Physics Engineering.
4. Explain briefly in four of five sentences what the article is about
Classroom acoustics have a great effects on the speech intelligibility of the
communication happens in the class. The authors compare the acoustics
quality between two classrooms at Faculty of Civil Engineering, Universiti
Teknologi Malaysia. Room with bad acoustics quality are likely to
increase the number of students who felt severely anxious, also depression
and stress. Therefore, to improve the acoustics quality in the classroom
can be done by covering the interior wall with kenaf fiber, whose sound
absorption coefficient is higher.
5. What is the writer’s message or purpose in writing this article?
The purpose of writing this article (this study) is to improve the acoustic
quality of the classroom for a better learning process.
6. Give your personal comment on the article as a conclusion of your
article review
I like how the authors present the article in a good way. They write it in a
formal language as how journal article usually would, but they also write it
briefly so doesn’t take much time for the readers to understand the whole
article. The authors also have done their best at their research seen from
the number of references that exceeded 30. This article is short, but
contain so much information.
