develop asexually to become rediae
• Rediae - embryo; pharynx and gut
• Cercariae - develop within the redua;
emerges from the snail; possess tail for
swimming; considered as juveniles
• Metacercariae - infective stage (definitive
host); encysted stage
• Second Intermediate Host - usually bears
the encysted metacercaria
