INTRODUCTION
TERMS
Electrical installation is a combination of electrical equipment installed
from a common electrical supply to fulfill a particular purpose.
Electrical Maintenance is the practice of conducting routine inspections
and tests of electrical systems and equipment so that impending troubles
can be detected and reduced, or eliminated after they have been installed.
Electrician is the one who install, repair and maintain wiring, switches,
conduits, circuit breakers, lighting and other electrical equipment in
buildings and other structures. To become an electrician you need to have
electrical knowledge and trouble-shooting skills to provide maintenance
services for electrically controlled systems.
An electrician must know how to read and interpret electrical plans,
following the variety of methods and practices used in the construction
field to complete basic electrical wiring installation in accordance with the
Philippine Electrical Code. Keeping up with new trends and continuing to
upgrade technical skills is an important part of the job as an electrician.
What is electrical and installation maintenance NCII qualification
prescribed by TESDA?
The Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC II Qualification consists
of competencies that a person must achieve to enable him/her
to install and maintain electrical wiring, lighting and related equipment and
systems where the voltage does not exceed 600 volts in residential
houses/buildings.
The competencies comprising this qualification standards are the
following:

3. CORE COMPETENCIES
A person who has achieved this qualification is competent to be:
1. Building-Wiring Electrician
2. Residential/Commercial-Wiring electrician
3. Maintenance Electrician
Also a person who is an electrical and maintenance NCII holder can be
also become a professional individual. He/she can be a registered master
electrician by complying the following requirements.

strategic process of innovation and new venture creation. It is both an art
and science of converting business ideas into marketable products or
services to improve the quality of living.
Now that you have background knowledge about entrepreneurs and
entrepreneurship, you can now walk through in assessing your PECs.

and improve their PECs.” To begin with, we will find out the competencies
you need to master upon finishing this module.
