Background of Developing Mobile Softphone V3
Applies to
V3
Due to sudden change of Google’s ”permissions policy”, Mobile Softphone
application V2 for Android which does not satisfy this policy was removed from
Google play store on 9th Mar. 2019, and even users who have installed the
application in the past,
can no longer reinstall.
-> As a result of considering the fastest and best way to release the application
on Google play store, Panasonic decided to newly develop and release Mobile
Softphone V3 according to the following development policy.
Developing Policy for Mobile Softphone V3:
・New application for Android (not enhanced application of V2).
・Same concept as V2.
・V3 feature is basically same as V2 (some improvement from V2).
・Mobile User AK (KX-UCMA***) are also available by V3 users.
iOS version
・Current V2 application continues until new version (on same platform with V3 Android) is
developed.
Development schedule : TBD

Important notice
Applies to
V3
For users who are using V1 or V2 application :
[Data transition]
Since V3 is totally new application, any data is not transferred from existing
application automatically upon installation. Also, existing application is remained
after installation of V3 (need to uninstall manually).
Necessary information such as Phonebook data, SIP setting, etc. should be
recorded before uninstalling existing application (V1 or V2).
For Phonebook data transferring operation from version 2, please refer associated
slide of this document.
For V1 application, there is no way to export from application. Please copy
manually.
[Simultaneous use with previous version]
Even if you use V3 and previous version (V1/V2) at the same time, as far as SIP
account is different, it would be no problem.
But, of course, it consume 2 client AK (UCMAxxx), so we recommend to uninstall
previous version of application, if there is no specific needs.

For NS / NSX system, if FQDN is used as SIP
server Address, Service Domain must be set
as well.
Otherwise, MS and PBX cannot communicate.
Set PBX local IP address as Service Domain
of MS regardless of service domain setting of
PBX.
For HTS’s service domain setting, please refer
next slide.
30
How it works
V2 ~
Support Service Domain for HTS32/824
The HTS32/824 has domain authentication function.
The Mobile Softphone supports this function for HTS32/824.
Registration to PBX
HTS32/824 checks Domain Name of SIP Message from the Mobile Softphone.
If this checking is No-good, then the Mobile Softphone can NOT connect to
HTS32/824.

CSV file is made with “Manage Phonebook” tool which we provide..
User can select “Add” or “Replace” when importing CSV file.
“Add” : New data add to existing data.
“Replace” : Delete existing data, then replace it with new data.
Up to 200 users in total.
33
How it works
Push Notification
This feature can be On/Off by setting at application(Android).
It is necessary to make On/Off at OS level(iOS)
Latest iOS or Android has low power consumption mode. It depends on device’s OS version but some
of them doesn’t support Push Notification during low power consumption mode.
For HTS
“Push Notification” is not available for HTS.
The application must be run on device when user like to use Mobile Softphone with HTS.
It is not possible to receive call while Mobile Softphone doesn’t run on device.

Mobile Softphone Phone book tool
PBX can export CSV file of phonebook.
However, Mobile Softphone can not import this CSV file as it is.
Because they use different character code between PBX and Mobile softphone.
Mobile Softphone can recognize only UTF-8 character code.
So, we provide the “manage phonebook tool” for this feature.
a) Convert CSV file which exported from PBX
1) Open the file of manage phonebook tool.
2) Export the extension data from PBX, and open it. ( Maintenance > Tool > Export )
3) Copy “name” and “number”, then paste them in tool.
4) Click “Export to CSV” to make the specific CSV file. << Phonebook.csv >>
