alphanumeric symbol of Part No.: -

(e) D or 2D (Version II)
Decoding Alphanumeric Symbols of Part Numbers of Russian Diodes
Version - I
Each letter of Russian Diodes Part No. has got its scientific meaning as
explained below:For example A Diode with Part Number KB 105A whose english version KV105A
is decoded as follows:K

Field I ---- The first letter defines the original semiconductor material for device.
It can be: A - Gallium components
G - Germanium or its compounds.
K - Silicon or its compounds.
Field II ----The second letter defines the type of diode as per its application.
A - Microwave Diode
D - Rectifier Diode
I - Tunnel and unitunnel Diode
L - Light Emitting Diode
S - Voltage Regulator Diode
U - Triode Thyristor
V - Variable Capacitance Diode
Tse - Rectifier units and stacks

Field III----The third letter defines the application or utility. This field covers
following type of the diode as per significance of third letter.
(a) Variable capacitance diodes
1 – Trimming Variable capacitance diodes.
For example : Part Number KV 110A means it is silicon variable trimming diode.
(b) Tunnel and unitunnel diodes
1 – Amplifying
2 – Switching
4 – Unitunnel
I - Light emitting diodes of the infrared-frequency range.
For Example: Part Number AI 101A means arsenide – gallium light emitting
amplifying tunnel diodes.
(c) Microwave diodes
1 - Mixing
5 – Regulating
6 – Multiplying
For example: Part Number AA 111A means arsenide-gallium microwave
mixing diode
(d) Thyristors
1 – Light-power non-latched (with maximum forward
current of 0.3A)
2 – Medium power non-latched (with forward current of
minimum 0.3A and maximum 10A)
(e) Rectifying Diodes
1 – Low power, with average forward current not over 0.3A
2 – Medium power, with average forward current not over
10A
(f) Multipurpose Diodes
4 – Diodes with a working frequency not over 1000 MHz
(g) Signal Diodes
5 – Diodes with reverse resistance recovery time not over
150ns
(h) Voltage Regulator Diodes
1 – Not over 0.3 W in power and not lower than 10V in

Zener voltage higher than 0.3W and not over 5W in power
5 – With zener voltage ranging between 10 and 99V
6 – With zener voltage ranging between 100 and 199V
Field IV & V ---- The fourth and fifth elements determine the ordinal number of
the device type from 1 through 99.
Field VI---- The sixth element defines the device parametric group within one
type.

Field II ----The second letter is the ordinal number of the device type.
1 through 100 – germanium point contact diodes
201 through 300 – silicon junction diodes
301 through 400 – germanium junction diodes
401 through 500 – microwave mixing detectors
801 through 900 – voltage regulator diodes
So 223 is Silicon diode
Field III----The third letter showing the device group within one type.
A - Device Group
