The Crafty Cushion Project 1. Research images, which relate to your target market (Teenagers) and your Theme - complete an A4 mood board. A mood board is a collection of images, which you can use to inspire you. You can find your images on the internet or in magazines. This must be completed for next week and will help you with your designs. (Remember to hand this in with the rest of your project) 2. Market Research: Find 6 images of cushions. Put them in a table, on an A4 sheet, using the following headings. Here is an example. Use the descriptive keywords sheet to help you. Negative Point It is only really suitable for children, so this will limit the target market. 3. Design a fun and funky mini-cushion. This could be a pincushion. Your cushion should be no more than 10cm squared. Remember to use decorative techniques You could create a mini block print or use fabric you have dyed yourself. Colour and annotate your design. 4. Create your mini cushion from scrap fabric. If you need fabric, see a Design and Technology teacher. You can also fill your cushion with small pieces of scrap fabric. 5. Complete your mini cushion. If possible photograph your design and display on an A4 sheet. Extension Task: Add embroidery to your mini cushion.
