Linear Equation: An equation that makes a straight line when it is
graphed.

An equation with 2 variables that do not have exponents

It can be slope intercept format – y=mx+b

It can be standard format – Ax + By = C, where A, B, & C are
constants

Horizontal lines just have y=C

Vertical lines just have x=C

The rate of change is the slope – it is m and measures how
fast the dependent variable is changing. It is also the
multiplier of the independent variable.

Examples:
You can begin to plot the line at the y-intercept = b.
