Assignment #6: Find a Conjunction
ἐπεχείρησαν δὲ τοῖς θεοῖς.
1) Conjunction: δὲ
2) Second independent clause, it includes its own aorist indicative active 3rd person verb
(ἐπεχείρησαν) and a dative noun (τοῖς θεοῖς) the subject of the sentence is supplied in the
preceding clause and so it is a second clause.
ὡς ἂν ἅνθρωποι παύσαιντο τῆς ἀκολασίας ἀσθενέστεροι γενόμενοι
1) Conjunction: ὡς
2) Purpose clause since ὡς introduces a purpose clause; it also has its own plural noun in the
nominative (ἅνθρωποι) and its own verb in the aorist optative (παύσαιντο) indicating that
it is in fact another clause.
