A Biological Definition of Self
Topic/Lesson
1. Difficult Concepts (What concepts did you find difficult to understand?)
i. I find the topic about consciousness difficult to understand since there was no
specific definition given but there were explanations that are a little bit hard
to understand.
ii. I want to know more about Metaphysical Musing.
iii. The concept of Abandonment of Behaviorism is hard for me to understand.
2. Insights (What new insights or learnings did you gain in discussion/ activity?)
i.
Before reading the article/understanding the lesson, I thought that some
explanations about the human behavior are not that reliable since there are
thousands of people in the world with different behaviors. However, reading
the article/understanding the lesson, I now think/realize that there are some
human behaviors that are considered true to all persons based on the studies
and researches of the psychologists.
ii. Before reading the article/understanding the lesson, I thought that it is hard to
understand the nature of the human person since every person is unique and
has a unique behavior. However, reading the article/understanding the
lesson, I now think/realize that it is possible for a person to understand himself
since there are studies about human behavior.
iii. Before reading the article/understanding the lesson, I thought that there is no
possibility of understanding human behaviors since if a person cannot
understand himself, how could he even understand other people? However,
reading the article/understanding the lesson, I now think/realize that there is a
possibility of understanding a person but then there are some barriers that
prevents this to happen and it depends on the person if how much he can
open up to other people, so it’s hard to fully understand a person’s behavior.
3. Questions (What questions would you want answers for? Or vague areas you
want more explanations about?
i.
Are the studies about human behavior accurate and applicable to all
human beings?
ii.
Is there a possibility to fully understand a person’s behavior with scientific
proofs?
iii.
Is the human behavior connected with the biological behavior of the
person?
