INDIVIDUAL BIBLE STUDY

Choose a single chapter of the Bible
and read it through. Then, select a short
passage (1-4 verses) from that chapter
to focus on. Verses chosen:

... asking that you may be filled with the
knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom
and understanding, so as to walk in a
manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to
him: bearing fruit in every good work and
increasing in the knowledge of God
3MEDITATE
Spend as little or as much time as you like
reflecting on your passage. God treats us as
individuals. Feel free to pray, sing, worship,
go for a walk, study other Bible passages, or
even to just sit silently and wait for the
Lord.

Write out your verse(s) in your own
words. Try to list every person, place, or
thing in your passage. If relevant, include
details about what is happening, and
when:

Does your passage contain a promise—or command? Are you trusting the promise? Obeying the command? For this
self-assessment, look for aspects of your passage that fit the categories listed. Enter a relevant category’s letter in the ABC
column, then any observations or thoughts–or insights from the Holy Spirit. Finally, take a few moments to reflect—
gently!—on your growth (or lack of growth) in this area then check the last column. Do as many or as few as you like.
