SCOPE OF WORK
The client requirement is stress analysis of hydro test
failure chilled water piping inside the tunnel that include
all existing supports, ancillaries, loads, pre-applied forces
and the like needed to examine and resolve the loads.

• Due to high load impact on anchor in previous support
configuration
• It fails to withstand the maximum load experienced by the

CONSERVE SOLUTION
• In this case limit rod has controlled the bellow not to expand fully
so there was no failure in the bellow.
• Now it has been checked for max forces and moment for both
supply and return line and is found to be safe.
• Limit rods are designed to absorb the pressure thrust of the
expansion joint in case of anchor failure.
• This recommendation is strongly accepted and it is advised to
loosen the limit rod to max bellow allowable movement. For more
