The antenna is a P-I-N diode tuned structure. An internal radiating
element provides a capacitance, which is tuned by an arrangement of
essentially binarily related switched inductive elements.

band 30 MHz to 88 MHz.

The 12-146 comprises a blade of aerofoil section. The electronic and RF
circuitry is mounted on a circuit board housed within the blade, which is
enclosed at the base by an aluminium alloy baseplate. The baseplate also
supports the RF and DC connectors.
Draining holes are included to prevent the retention of moisture.
