Synchronous motor DFSlDFY (made by SEW)
Isolate the drive from the supply before you start any maintenance work and safeguard the drive against unintentional power-up. Do not undo connectors while the
drive is energized.
Only use original spare parts in accordance
with the valid parts list.
The service life of a part is influenced by many factors and differs for the various
parts. Carry out regular visual inspections of the drive. The bearings should only
be changed by SEW-trained personnel since the resolver must be re-set each time
the motor has been disassembled.

In order to extend the service life of the guiding system, the idlers must be permanently wetted with a thin oil film free from resin and acid. When the idlers show a
slight reddish discoloration-not
affecting the function of the linear unit, at all-it’s
time to relubricate them. Two lubricating points (I), located on each side of the sliding carriage are being used for lubrication.
Co

The preloading of the guide rollers may be changed. The linear drive units are
being deliverd with best possible preloading values. This guarantees not only an
unobjectionable running performance but also ensures the necessary transmission of moments and forces. Modifications to the preload of the guide rollers
should only be carried out after having consulted the service personal.
Reoil the mechanical linear drive unit every 40 operating
free and acid free oil.

Quad. linear unit EV 50 [Rose und Krieger]
1381103
Revision: 2004-08-05
14.11 Quad. linear unit EV 50 [Rose und Kriegerj
All linear units are supplied with the correct quantity of lubricant by the manufacturer. The maintenance intervals are depandant on working hours, loads and environment (extreme temperature variations, high humidity of the air or aggressive
environment, etc. }
Standard lubrication practices can be used for ACME thread spindles, too.
Either oil or grease can be used as lubricant.
The maintenace intervals with oil lubrication are very short. Please take care, that
there is no dry-running. On principle, all commercially available mineral oils as
used for antifriction bearings are suitable.
The advantage of grease lubricatioin is that the threaded spindles can run for 200
to 500 hours without regreasing. All commercially available antifriction bearing
lubrication greases can be used but should not be mixed.

Principle
Lifting platforms are hydraulically operated scissor lifting platforms. These platforms comprise of the base frame, scissors, upper frame and hydraulic group. The
scissors consist of two frames fixed at the centre by way of two joints, their movement being performed by hydraulic plunger pistons. One of the scissor frames is
attached on one side to the base frame in two fixed bearings, the other to the
upper frame in two fixed bearings. Two rollers are located on the opposite side,
running on rails in the base or upper frame. The scissor movement lifts the upper
frame, which is guided vertically and parallel to the base frame by the scissors.
n
Due to its position between the two frames, the hydraulically operated scissors with its carrying, guiding and driving functions is a particularly compact
lifting device.
4
The high energy density of the hydraulic drive enables a high load bearing
capacity even with small dimensions.

Advanteges
The simple and reliable technical means joints and rollers make this a robust,

Co
The regular quality and design features of the lifting platform The base frame is
made of rectangular tube, its dimensions allowing the forces to be dissipated into
the ground by way of its combined leveling and anchor plates without any additional shimming.
The upper frame is also made of rectangular tube with an endplate running all
round, its bottom edge supporting the protective contact strip. It is dimensioned
according to the intended loads. Particular attention is given to frequently occurring high edge loads. The cover plate is not used for strengthening purposes ; it
can be and is, for this reason, bolted on.
As a carrying and guiding means, the scissors are dimensioned to incorporate a
high safety factor. In order to meet their guiding task, considerable importance is
attached to high rigidity, this applying, in particular, to the cross direction. To
achieve high guiding accuracy, the mounting holes for the joint and roller journals
are bored in the scissor arms made of high solid steel profiles on a CNC machining
centre. The four scissor arms are then connected in pairs to the two scissor frames
in an adjustable template in parallel and at a precise angle to the hollow profiles.
To obtain the predetermined lifting characteristics, the mounting holes for the
hydraulic cylinders are also set and welded in this template. To avoid buckling
forces acting on the cylinders and bearings, particularly due to strain on the scissors, all joints are of a spherical design (pivoting bearings). The nitrated rollers
running in ball-bearings move on rails which are bolted to the base and upper
frame respectively. The plunger pistons (rods) of the cylinders are hard-chrome

plated and are dynamically sealed with polyurethane based lip seals. The guide is
surface finished and can be dismantled to allow the cyiinder to be repaired.
The task of the hydraulic unit is to convert the electrical energy into hydraulic
energy, to direct this energy to meet the requirements, to set free most of the
energy loss, essentially comprising the potential energy released during towering,
as heat into the environment as well as minimise the entire energy loss. To economically achieve these objectives Laweco applies the following in addition to the
conventional means: High speed/creep speed gear shifting, multi-stage pumps,
two drives, variable displacement pumps, pressure/current control systems, load
sensing systems, proportional technology, various processes for energy recuperation, hydraulic accumulator systems, cooling units and the precise determination of
the drive rating.

Laweco particularly specializes in application-specific lifting platforms. The mechanics, hydraulics and, if necessary, the electric control system are coordinated in
the design stage and optimally and economically adapted to the application as an
integrated system.

The coat of paint fulfills both an optical and an anticorrosive function and is, therefore, applied with particular care: The lifting tables are thoroughly cleaned and
phosphatized to prepare them for the lacquer coat. Subsequently, a zinc priming
and synthetic coat is applied in succession, each being dried and cured at 80°C.

Ensure that supply lines and hydraulic hoses are not damaged during installation.
After positioning the lifting platform, remove all eyebolts including the fastening screws.
Connect the motor provisionally.
If the lifting platform does not raise within 3 seconds in spite of motor sounds,
the motor phases are incorrectly connected. Move the lifting platform into its
top final position to rest on the safety supports.
Subsequently, route the connection lines through the empty pipe from the pit.
You will find the terminal wiring diagram for your lifting platform as well as a
copy of this operating manual in the control andlor terminal box.

Checking
the level
Check the level of the hydraulic fluid in the reservoir every three months. Read off
the level of the oil reservoir at the oil dip stick or at the inspection glass. If the
hydraulic group is located inside the lifting platform, check the level with the
maintenance supports in place. If the hydraulic group is located outside the lifting
platform, check the level when the platform is lowered. Ensure that the oil level

Visual check
To check the hydraulic fluid for alterations and contamination, open the reservoir
by removing the cleaning lid or infill strainer. A dark colouration indicates possible
overheating or overageing of the fluid. Milky hydraulicfluid indicates the absorption
of water e.g. condensation water. Change the hydraulic fluid as soon as any such
discolouration is detected. Change the filter and/or filter cartridge with each oil
change.

Once the vent screw (8) has been unscrewed, the free end of the locking wire (6)
can be reached using a screwdriver or hook. Turn the piston rod guide (9) using a
hook spanner against the pull-in direction of the locking wire to pull out the wire. If
the wire becomes shorter, the direction of rotation is incorrect. Only once the wire
has been completely pulled out, can the piston rod with the guide be pulled out. Oil
may escape! Remove the retaining ring (11) to pull the piston rod out of the guide.
The seals are now free. Always replace all seals at the same time, while ensuring
that the lip seal (4) is mounted the correct way round and that the bearing ring (5a)
rests on the piston rod side of the cylinder. To make it easier to mount the bearing
ring, apply a little Vaseline to the piston rod guide. Once the guide has been put
back onto the piston rod and the safety ring has been inserted, push the piston rod
with the guide back into the cylinder. If the locking device consists of two wires,
ensure that they run parallel along the entire length and are of equal length. If the
wire is sharp-edged, deburr it but never bevel it.

Prior to inserting the lacking wire, ensure that the mounting holes (5) are sharpedged. New holes must be drilled, if necessary. for this, pull the piston rod and

To mount, push the wire deep into the mounting holes and bend it over at a sharp
angle using a screwdriver and a hammer. After bending, it should be possible to
turn th e piston rod guide without exerting much force and the wire should disappear into the grooves during bending. Pull in the wire far enough so that the free
end can always be held easily.
