4. CO ED Volleyball sign up on the art room window. Sign up no later than Monday, October 3.
5. SENIORS - please turn in your senior composite photo before Thanksgiving break. All photos need to
be turned in either digitally or physically to Mrs. Hudson. The sooner you turn them in the better!

6. FFA has extra pork loins for sale - $20.00. Contact Mrs. Weber or the office.
7. Students in Grades 9-12: Mitchell Tech is sponsoring the following camps: energy, business, ag. &
transportation, cyber, construction, scrubs, and culinary. They will be having some exploration days,
too, when you can visit the campus and classrooms. *See Ms. Bourn for more info.
8. The weight room will be open on Thursday this week.
9. Thanks in advance to Mike/Lisa Genzlinger, Dave/Melissa Claussen and Maurice Emond for running
the concession stand 6:15 PM – End on Tuesday., Sept. 27th, . *Please bring a pan of individually
wrapped bars.
10. There will be a Homecoming dance immediately following the football game on October 7 for grades 912. DJ services will be provided by Energy Event Group. Tickets will be sold at lunch during
Homecoming week and at the door. Tickets are $5 each.
11. STUDENT COUNCIL: Student Council members will be practicing on the stage for the Variety Show
each day at lunch from now until Oct. 6.
12. Variety Show Acts: If you are in an act for the variety show you need to be practicing your routine/act
outside of school. All acts will perform for Mrs. Hudson either before school, during lunch, or after
school on Thursday, September 29th in the art room. Please make arrangements with Mrs. Hudson to
set up a time.
13. Students: Southeast Tech is hosting some camps:
-Scrubs camp on 10/7/16
-Business Expo camp on 10/19
-Get in the Garage camp on 4/5/17.
All camps run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with lunch provided. This is an excellent way for you to have the
opportunity to participate in hands on, real world activities that you would do in the career areas and
have a chance to meet faculty, students and graduates. This is for students 9-12. Check

as well as application information. See Ms. Bourn if you have any questions.
14. Students in grades 9-12: If you are interested in information on the Resource Conservation Speech
Contest and Scholarship, please see Ms. Bourn. Scholarships range from $450-$1,100.
15. Students in grades 9-12: If you are interested in learning more about careers in the health field,
consider attending a Scrubs Camp. Scrubs Camps will be held at these locations, and more: HuronOct. 5, 2016; Yankton- Oct. 6th, 2016; Mitchell- Nov. 16, 2016; Madison- April 14, 2017. Our students

16. Reminder: all football players, cheerleaders, stats, coaches, ball boys owe $35.00 for their football
meals. Please pay Michelle Jacobson or drop at office ASAP.
17. Friday Night Lights Glow Run/Walk to benefit the Good Samaritan Howard Back Pack Program! It
is Sept 30th Main Street, Howard. Registration at 7:30pm. FREE glow items. Run/Walk starts at 8pm.
COST: free will donation or non-perishable food items.
The Back Pack program provides healthy foods items for children over the weekends and holidays.
18. Students in grades 7-12: See Ms. Bourn if you would like to apply for the Prudential Spirit of
Community Award. This award is presented to students for making meaningful contributions to
communities through volunteer service. Deadline: Nov. 8, 2016.
19. Yearbooks are in! If you've purchased a yearbook already, your book will be handed out during class
meetings. If you would like to purchase last year's yearbook, please bring cash or check to the office in
the amount of $58.30. Checks can be made to Howard High School.
