CondenStop®
CondenStop Moisture & Corrosion Protection
Single skin metal roofs are prone to condensation due to changing outdoor or indoor
conditions. Condensation, sweating and dripping can have severe adverse effects on
the condition of the building and its valuable contents. A structural and economical
solution to solve moisture management problems in single skin systems is
CondenStop®.
CondenStop will prevent dripping and sweating of single sheet systems and provide
additional protection against corrosion. It will give building owners an economical and
effective integrated solution against the harmful effects of moisture. Manufacturers of
single skin systems and components can add extra value and differentiate themselves
by offering customers CondenStop enhanced panels.

CondenStop®
CondenStop has been tested extensively, and certified by leading institutes for moisture
absorption, sound absorption, chemical resistance, mold, and aging. CondenStop is
fully certified on its fire characteristics by Underwriter’s Laboratories Inc. (ASTM E8404, FSI 0, SDI 35). In classification terms: Class A according to NFPA 101 and, Class I
according to the Model Building Codes.
CondenStop has been developed by Lantor. Lantor is recognized world-wide for its
innovative nonwoven products and applications since 1958. Lantor is a fully ISO9001
and ISO14001 certified company. As the market leader, Lantor’s CondenStop delivers
a proven and certified quality solution for condensation problems in single skin systems.
Absorption and Time-to-Drip-Formation
CondenStop is a synthetic nonwoven fleece based on polyester fibers containing a
chemical binding agent mixed with unique Thermoplastic Microspheres. Together these
components create the critical characteristics for the effective prevention of sweating
and dripping due to condensation.
CondenStop has excellent absorption properties. These
absorption characteristics will prevent dripping from the
roof or ceiling. CondenStop has been tested extensively
and successfully in Europe by leading institutes and the
largest metal companies.
The Institute of Building Physics in Germany determined
a very high absorption capacity for CondenStop. The
absorption capacity for the basic material is over 3 oz
per sqft.

CondenStop®
Even more important is CondenStop’s impressive Saturation Performance. The unique
combination of fibers and microspheres results in an unparalleled Time-to-DripFormation. Just a few hours till drip formation is not sufficient, building owners and
users need a drip-free and sweat-free building 24/7.
The unique structure of CondenStop also provides the basis for its internal ventilation
performance. Breathing or ventilation enables the effective and fast evaporation of
condensation.
Corrosion Protection
Using CondenStop will not modify or harm any existing protection against corrosion.
Due to the high quality adhesive layer, moisture will not get into contact with the metal
sheet. In fact, the adhesive layer will act as a highly effective moisture barrier.
Efficient Application on Metal Sheets
CondenStop can be applied inline prior to rollforming during panel production. It is
applied on sheet metal with a pre-applied adhesive (protected by an easy-release foil).
The overview below illustrates this efficient process. Even during on-site rollforming
CondenStop is easy to use.

by
Underwriters
Laboratory according to ASTM E84-04. In classification
terms: Class A according to NFPA 101 and, Class I
according to the Model Building Codes. In addition, the full
classification according to NEN-EN-ISO 11925-2:2002 for
CondenStop is B-s1, d0, the highest classification
possible.
Noise Absorption
CondenStop has significant anti-noise characteristics.
CondenStop
absorbs
noise
from
outside
weather
conditions, and reduces interior noise. Several leading
institutes have successfully tested CondenStop for noiseand sound absorption.
Anti Mold
CondenStop does not support the growth of molds. CondenStop has been qualified as
a class I material, which means that it is “impervious to mold growth”.
Multiple Cold Surfaces
Although roofs and ceilings are the obvious areas for the use of CondenStop enhanced
panels, other cold surfaces, such as, framing members and cooling ducts will benefit
from CondenStop too.
Concealed Condensation
Besides the potential visible condensation locations, CondenStop can be used where
concealed condensation may occur. One successful application is the prevention of
moisture collection in the insulation between panels (R-value protection).
