ACADEMIC PROJECTS
 M. Tech Project
[Dec’11 – June’12]
Title: Characterization of Various Liquid Insulation for High Voltage Application
Under AC, DC and Impulse Voltages.
(Guide: Prof. S. V. Kulkarni, EE Dept. IIT Bombay)
• The objective of the project is to c h e c k relative performance of new vegetable oil as liquid
dielectrics for the power transformer under AC, DC and Impulse Voltages
• Characterization of various transformer oils by Partial Discharge performance
• PD, BDV, Tan δ and DGA diagnostics to assess the condition of liquid insulation of power
transformer
 M. Tech Seminar
[July ’10 – Nov ’10]
Title: Monitoring and Diagnostics of Power Transformers. (Guide: Prof. S. V. Kulkarni, EE Dept. IIT
Bombay)
• Studied various advanced monitoring and diagnostics methods like Frequency Response Analysis,
Partial Discharge, Dissolved Gas Analysis, BDV, Dielectric dissipation factor and Ultra High
Frequency technique.
 B. Tech Project
[Aug ’09 – May ’10]
Title: Multilevel Converters for Grid Connected Photovoltaic Systems. (Guide: Mr S. K. Patil)
• My role for this project was to study the state of art of multilevel converters in the field of grid
connected solar power system and on the basis of this study to develop a topology for this type of
converter.
• Developed the simulation as well as hardware for this multilevel converter.
 Course Projects
(Guided by Prof. A. M. Kulkarni, EE Dept. IIT Bombay)
Title: Power System Dynamics.
• Time domain simulation of 2-generator system was done in matlab coding environment, and
effects of disturbances viz three-phase-fault.
• Step change in generation of one of the generators and sudden load change were studied.
Title: Global accuracy of the FEM solutions based on Maxwell’s Equation.
(Guided by Prof. S. V. Kulkarni, EE Dept. IIT Bombay)
• Used commercial software, FEMM in order to verify the results obtained from the MATLAB
coding.
Title: Power Transfer Allocation for Open Access Using Graph Theory
(Guided by Prof. S. K. Khaparde, EE Dept. IIT Bombay)
• By using Graph Theory the power transfer allocation between individual generators and loads are
determined.
Title: Renewable Energy and Indian Power Market
(Guided by Prof. S. K. Khaparde, EE Dept. IIT Bombay)
• Current Scenario of Indian Power Market.
