It haying become aj)parent that an extension of
the Corap my is necossary in order to keep pace with
the growing Colonial and Intercolonial trades, the
Directors of the New Zealand Shipping Company,
(Limited), are now seeking the aid of the public to
bring about the achievement of this subject, point
with confidence to the success which has hitherto
marked their operations, as a guarantee to Intending
shareholders that the prospect of ;i good investment
held out to them is a substantial und fair one.
Unlike the other Steam Companies now projected
the Company actually occupies the field with a fleet

material necessary for the working of the steamers,

It is now proposed to raise the capital of the Company to L150.000, with power to increase it further.
Immediately the necessiry sanction of the present
shareholders has been obtained in general meeting.
and there will be no difficulty, as the present step is
taken at their request, the proposed plan of extension
will be definitely put before the public.
The Directors of the Company ai c fully alive to
the importance of keeping pace with the rapidly
developing trade of the colony, not only so far as the
mere csaatal traffic is concerned, but also With
reference to the trade with the Australian Colonies,
the South Sea Islands, and the growing colony of
