RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Plan, coordinate and implement staff schedule changes, and scheduling of volunteers.
Assist Program Director by taking a major responsibility in implementing and monitoring
Programs, including screening potential clients, volunteers, and interns.
Make arrangements for in-service training sessions on a regular basis, to ensure compliance with
Community Care Licensing, SAMSHA and CMHS training requirements
Supervise, train, and evaluate Personal Care Provider Staff.
Explore community resources in order to enrich and plan additional services.
Answer program phone and convey messages to staff not on duty.
At the request of the Program Director, assume responsibilities of Acting Program Director on an
as-needed basis (e.g., vacation).
Prepare Petty Cash records and requests as directed by Program Director.
Responsible for charting and billing to MediCal standards.
Responsible for completing Client Plans and Assessments in a timely manner.
For Community Care Licensing purposes, assume role of facility administrator under the
direction of the Program Director.
Complete written Personal Care Provider Staff Evaluations in a timely fashion and submit to
Program Director.

Shares RSS on-call responsibilities with other Buckelew Site Coordinators.
Ensure that facility site is clean and well maintained at all times
Provide general counseling, case management, guidance, and life-skills training with clients in
manner that facilitates individual growth.
Assist clients to prepare for moving to Supported Housing.
Provide crisis intervention and crisis management services.
Participate in and help implement program and treatment goals.
Remain aware of general mood and tone of the house while on duty and act in a manner
responsive to the situation.
Drive clients to and from appointments, as requested by Program Director.
Accompany some clients into doctors’ appointments to facilitate communication of accurate
information to and from doctor.
Conduct staff, house, and treatment team and family meetings.
Meet regularly with the Program Director
Facilitate social, recreational, and other similar groups and activities.
Assist residents in taking prescribed medications.
Be aware of general physical health of residents, and assist as needed in obtaining necessary
medical care.
Generally act as a positive role model.
Gather information from psychiatrist, CMHS and other resources on applicants for programs,
and make arrangements in regard to intake.
Maintain up-to-date contact with people outside the Agency to assure coordination of treatment
and service plans.
Keep current notes in residents’ charts, log books, and other similar information sources and
assure they are in compliance with Community Care licensing and MediCal standards.
Involve family members in placement issues as indicated, and communicates positively with
family members.

Participate in the maintenance of a positive, safe, open and cooperative environment in the RSSs
and throughout Buckelew Programs for both clients and staff.
Ensure staff meets quarterly Medi-Cal billing goals.
Work successfully with the other agency staff, and with staff of the larger system of care

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, or Psychiatric Technician’s License;
or Registered Nurse or equivalent experience. For regular position, successful completion of
35 hour Adult Residential Facility Initial Certification within first twelve months, and
maintain certification. Must qualify for MediCal billing – MHRS.
Experience: Two or more years of experience in a mental health agency, at least one of
which is in direct service, and the remainder, including some administrative or planning
responsibilities.
Personal: Ability to relate well with others, to balance many tasks and responsibilities
simultaneously, to be empathic, warm, firm and supportive with clients. Must have valid
California driver’s license and personal automobile for use on the job.
Physical Requirements: Capable of the following intermittent activities: stretching,
bending, kneeling, twisting, squatting, reaching above and below the shoulder, pushing,
pulling, grasping and lifting up to 40 pounds. Capable of the following extended
activities: driving, writing, standing and sitting.
Status:
This position is Full-Time and Exempt. Work schedule is Mon.-Fri. 9am-5pm
Wage:
$52,500/yr.
