Lulu Upload Services Agreement and Guidelines
Please review the terms listed below before proceeding with your final purchase or submission.
Scheduling and Confirmation. We schedule work on a "first-come, first-served" basis. Once you
place your order for services, we will contact you with a Confirmation e-mail requesting your Lulu
Upload Information. You will then be required to submit the following information and files:
1. Your e-mail address: This is the e-mail address you supplied to Lulu.com to obtain membership.
2. Your Lulu.com Password: This is the password you supplied to Lulu.com to obtain membership.*
3. Book Title: As it should appear on the Lulu.com website.
4. Author Name or Pen Name: As it should appear on the Lulu.com website.
5. Copyright Year, if other than current year: (Note: Your license type will be set to the default
copyright statement unless otherwise specified. The default year will be 2005.)
6. A brief description of your book: This will be listed on the Lulu.com website for readers to view. It is
optional but recommended.
7. Category Listing: You may choose one category from a list of main categories to describe your
manuscript at: http://www.lulu.com/browse/ (Example: Fiction, Computers, Religion, Reference).
8. Subcategory Listing: You may choose a subcategory by selecting the link for your primary category
and choosing from the subcategories listed at the top of the page. (Example: Science Fiction, Thriller, Selfhelp)
9. Distribution Format: Distribution Formats include Download (ebook) and Print (paperback.) You
may choose one or both.
10. Color: Please choose between black and white interior or color interior.
11. Binding: Please choose between perfect (paperback) or spiral binding. Please note that manuscripts
must meet Lulu’s minimum page-count requirements for certain print options.
12. Royalty: Please choose your royalty amount. (Important! Please make sure you understand the
Lulu.com pricing structure prior to providing this information. You may learn more about the pricing
structure at: http://www.lulu.com/help/node/view/28 The royalty amount determines the price of your
book but will not be the book's retail price.)
13. Preview: Your preview should be a Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat PDF file.
14. Access Type: Choose between "Everyone," "Children," "Teen," "Mature," and "Direct Access." This
describes the "content rating" of your book.
15. Your font and back cover files in JPG, GIF, or PNG format. You may also choose to use Lulu’s
stock cover art.
16. Your manuscript: Please submit your manuscript as a PDF file to reduce the risk of conversion
errors. Although we will review your files for possible printing errors, integrative ink is not responsible for
manuscripts that will not print due to formatting errors. If you feel you may need assistance with
formatting your manuscript for print, please contact us prior to purchasing Upload services.
Once we have received the requested files and information, we will send you a Service Confirmation
Form listing your approved documents, turnaround, and start date. You must confirm the listed start
date within three business days of your scheduled start date; otherwise, the listed date may no longer
be available. If this occurs, you will be given a new start date. (We will do our best to meet your
deadlines, but your preferred start date is not guaranteed prior to your Service or Quote
Confirmation. Please let us know in advance if your deadlines are urgent or if your publishing
timeline is fixed. If you have questions regarding our current scheduling calendar, please contact us
prior to placing an order for services.)
Author Contact and Updates. Once the scheduled upload begins, you must be available via e-mail
or telephone so that any questions that arise may be dealt with promptly. Delays due to necessary
contact between the Author and integrative ink are not factored into quoted turnaround. In the event
that we are unable to reach you during the quoted dates set aside for your Work, we reserve the right
to place a hold on your scheduled upload.
Payment Terms and Pricing. Payment for services is to be made through the Lulu.com
Marketplace under the terms specified by Lulu in their Terms and Conditions. All payment
confirmation, billing, and refund information must be handled through Lulu.com according to the
terms listed in their agreement. However, Authors may contact integrative ink for pricing, scheduling,
and turnaround information. The price listed for Lulu Upload Services is a flat rate.
Cancellation. Both the Author and integrative ink reserve the right to terminate services, in writing or
through verbal notification, at any time for any reason. If this Agreement is terminated by integrative
ink after services commence but before completion of services, any monies paid or owed to integrative
ink by the Author will be refunded according to the Lulu Terms and Conditions. (b) If this
Agreement is terminated by the Author before completion of services but after services have
commenced, the Author may forfeit their right to a full refund.
Reviewing Your Formatted Manuscript. We will review the files you supply (your manuscript
PDF, front cover, back cover, and preview) for possible upload or printing errors. If your files do
not meet with Lulu’s guidelines or recommendations for approved printing, we will contact you with
recommendations for correcting your files. (This will delay the publication of your work.)
Once your work has been uploaded, you will receive a link to your published work, where you may
approve the final appearance of your listing, including book description, price, book preview, license
statement, and front and back cover appearance. (Once the upload is complete, integrative ink will
supply Authors with the auto-generated ID number supplied to Lulu.com members and a link to the
published content for final approval.)
Privacy and Account Information. Although we will go through the steps outlined on the
Lulu.com website in order to upload and publish your Work, please be aware of the following:
1. Authors must agree to the terms listed in the Lulu.com Membership Agreement prior to obtaining
Upload Services with integrative ink.
2. Once Author files have been uploaded and published to the Lulu.com website, integrative ink will
not administer or maintain the Author’s membership, profiles, storefronts, or any other portion of
documentation, text, images, or content posted. integrative ink will not be responsible for Author sales,
royalties, personal account information, or the sales status of the Work. integrative ink will not provide
technical or customer support for the Lulu.com website.
Important!
Authors are required to change their membership password once services obtained with

integrative ink have been completed in order to ensure the privacy and integrity of their user or
financial information. Authors will be responsible for supplying Lulu.com with personal account
information in order to receive royalty payments once the publishing process is complete. integrative
ink will no longer have access to the Author’s account or protected information once the password
has been changed. Information on changing passwords will be supplied in a separate e-mail;
however, this information is readily available on the Lulu.com website. integrative ink will not be held
liable for the Author’s failure to alter, update, or maintain their user and account information,
including the author storefront or sales page.
Confidentiality. integrative ink shall not disclose, publish, or authorize others to publish the Work or
improvements made to the Work assigned by the Author, without the prior written approval of the
Author.
Liability. integrative ink shall not have legal responsibility, in any way or means, for the Author's
Work. integrative ink waives all liability for the Work arising from any action to which integrative ink was
not a direct party, including, but not limited to, any legal action regarding plagiarism, copyright,
ownership, libel, breach of privacy, misrepresentation of fact, defamation, or any similar or parallel
legal actions. In no event shall integrative ink’s liability for unsatisfactory services exceed the amount
paid by the Author for services rendered. Author retains final editorial and design control over the
Work.
Rights. Author retains all rights, titles, and interest in and to all improvements, copyrightable
material, techniques, and designs made or conceived by him solely or jointly with others, relating to
submitted materials referred to as the Work; and hereby represents and warrants that the Author is
the sole owner and copyright holder of the Work.
Agreement: By obtaining services with integrative ink, you are acknowledging your full acceptance of
the terms and conditions described, and you warrant and represent that you have the legal capacity to
enter into this Agreement. You also agree that this Agreement is a legal, valid, and binding obligation,
and that its terms and conditions can be enforced. Please keep a copy for your reference.
