■North Africa and Mediterranean Centre for Research
and Education
(Centre de l'Afrique Nord et de la MÈditerranÈe pour la
Recherche et l'Enseignment: CANMRE)
The objective of the center is the promotion of academic
cooperation between our university and universities and
research institutions in North Africa and the Mediterranean
region. For this purpose, the center implements the
following activities: collaborative research and educational
cooperation with the local universities and institutions,
student exchange coordination, publicity work of our
university to the region, support of research and educational
activities of faculty, researchers, and students in the North
Africa and Mediterranean region, and organization of
academic conferences to provide an opportunity for mutual
understanding and interaction. In the framework of the
Project for Establishing Core Universities for
Internationalization ("Global 30") by the Ministry of
Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of
Japan (MEXT), our office was appointed as one of eight
Overseas Office for Shared Utilization by Universities.
■International Center for Central Asian Research
and Education
The main aim of the Center is three-fold. Firstly, it is
called upon to promote coordination between Central
Asian universities and research institutes. Secondly, it
promotes educational research activities, bridging
together research on Central Asia and Japan. And
thirdly, it encourages awareness about both the
Central Asian Region and Japan. The main activities
of the Center include research meeting and seminars,
educational training and common research projects.
■Ho Chi Minh City Office
Since "University of Tsukuba International Office of
Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam" was established
in August 6, 2009, the office supported to promote
cooperation and interaction between research
institutes, students, researchers in Vietnam and
Tsukuba. It is also expected that our branch will
contribute to the development of international network
in Southeast Asia.
Recently Ho Chi Minh City Branch supported to hold
University fair and internship program in Vietnam.
More than 100 Vietnamese students took part in
University fair. We were touched by their passion in
studying at University of Tsukuba.
