QCells Solar Modules
QCells are known for producing the highest quality modules in the world. Q stands for Quality. The modules are manufactured
within the most comprehensive quality inspection regime, incorporating independent factory-embedded verification,
surpassing minimum standards to a high degree.
The G3 is the third generation module from QCells and has been optimised across the board for improved output yield and
higher operating reliability. Excellent low-light performance assists improved yields and is based on the Q.ANTUM cell concept.

Three Phase Inverters
Huawei 3PH Premium Solar Inverters
Huawei is new to the Australian solar market and presents the latest in design and performance. With a workforce of 70,000
committed to R&D alone, Huawei submitted their SUN2000 inverter to Photon magazine for testing. It rated A+, achieving a
top 3 position out of the 140 inverters tested, upon its first attempt. All the more remarkable given Huawei’s technology is
not reliant on expensive SiC transistors.
Outdoor IP65 rated, the Huawei SUN2000 inverters are provided with RS485 and USB communications ports.
The freely available monitoring software, iManager NetEco 1000S, provides powerful PC-based monitoring platform including
plant overview up to 6 inverters via RS485, and additionally, can be accessed via web browser thus allowing remote access,
monitoring in real time, alarm communications, firmware upgrade and inverter log acquisition. Remote access is user friendly,
APP supported, while alarm messages can be via SMS or email.
Earth fault alarm requirements set by IEC62109 are similarly supported.
The optional SmartLogger device completes an industrial solar plant layout and features embedded webserver, environmental
I/O, LCD, 10y data-logging and 60 inverter support capacity.
• Greater than 98% efficiency - provides maximum performance for all models
• Wide operating window – 200 to1000 V DC max input for non-domestic 3-phase applications
• Range of power ratings - ranging from 8 - 23 kW are adaptable to large or complex industrial plants, with a special 28kW unit
available with higher voltage output suiting transformer boost to MV connection
• Up to 3 MPPT – versatile adaption to different module types
• Up to 6 inputs – intelligent monitoring and fault detection
• Extra low noise - quiet running (≤29dB) unlike the 60dB typical of competitors

Clenergy PV-ezRack SolarTerrace
SolarTerrace ground mounting solutions allow for different soil types and can rely on rammed post, concrete footing or ground
screw technology. Soil may vary as to its packing, its rock content and even to its corrosive status. Solar Terrace can provide
mounting for a few kW all the way to multi-MW large scale PV plants.
Clenergy’s rail profile T110 forms the basis of the Solar Terrace solution.
PV-ezRack T- Rail
EzRack T110 rail is utilsed in both the SolarTerrace II and III mounting systems. Dedicated rail caps and splices are available to
suit, while Clenergy’s regular mid and end clamps mate with the T110 rail via their innovative Z-module nuts.

Panel Clamps
The Clenergy mounting system offers a range of clamp sizes to suit different solar module thicknesses. End clamps must match
the module frame exactly while the mid clamps provide some tolerance. Clamp screws are manufactured in stainless steel.
Clamps rely on Clenergy’s innovative Z-module technology. Simply put, these small threaded modules act as the clamp nuts,
and are easily inserted into the rail in any point and innitially locked by hand. This technology is patented by Clenergy.

Surge protection
Surge protection of solar power systems
Transient overvoltage
Transient overvoltages are surges that can reach tens of kilovolts with duration of the order of microseconds.
Despite their short duration, the high energy content can cause serious problems to equipment connected to
the line, from premature aging to destruction, causing disruptions to service and financial loss.
The origin of surges can vary from external sources such as lightning and utility grid switching, to internal
sources such as the disconnection of motors or other inductive loads. Outdoor and longer lines are the most
exposed to these fields, which often receive high levels of induction.
Transient overvoltages do not occur solely in power distribution lines, but are also common in any line formed
by metal conductors, such as telephony, communications, measurement and data.
In all these networks, transient overvoltage protection is achieved by installing the protector or line discharger
on the vulnerable line, connecting it in parallel with the load (eg. solar array or inverter) between the line and
earth. This means that in the event of a transient over-voltage, the protector will discharge excess energy to
earth, thus limiting the peak voltage to a value acceptable for the electrical equipment connected.
General operation of a protector
A transient overvoltage protection device acts as a voltage controlled switch and is installed between the active
conductors and ground in parallel with the equipment to be protected. When the supply voltage is lower than
its activation voltage, the protector acts as a high-impedance element so that no current flows through it. When
the supply voltage is higher than the activation voltage, the protector acts as an element with an impedance
close to zero, diverting the overvoltage to earth and preventing it from affecting equipment downstream.
The nominal voltage of the electrical supply must be considered when selecting a SPD. Since the SPD acts a
voltage controlled switch, the nominal voltage of the network must not exceed the maximum continuous
operating voltage (MCOV) of the SPD. If the SPD is connected to a network where the nominal voltage is greater
than the MCOV rating of the SPD, the SPD will reach end of life prematurely.
Another point to consider when selecting a SPD, is the voltage protection level, which must be less than the
maximum voltage which can be withstood by the equipment to be protected.
Depending upon the exposure of the installation to the effects of lightning and transient overvoltages,
protection devices with different discharge capacities will be needed. The various local and international
standards classify devices into types or categories based on their discharge capacity and voltage protection
level.
In installations where the average number of lighting events are high or where there is high risk then a Type 1
device should be used. Type 1 devices can be identified by their Iimpulse rating which is a simulated lightning test.
Where the risk of lightning is low or the installation is deemed as being low risk or non-critical then a Type 2
device should offer sufficient protection.

Surge Protection PV
Cirprotec Solar PV-rated Surge Protection
Cirprotec surge protection products to suit solar applications, manufactured in Spain
• Modular and pluggable - easy fit within combiner boxes
• Complies with standards – meets EN61643-11 and IEC61643-1
• Domestic or Commercial SPDs - suits 600 V DC or 1000 V DC systems
•
Photovoltaic installations are highly exposed to atmospheric phenomena resulting in power surges and induced over-voltages,
it is therefore very important that both the DC and AC electrical lines in photovoltaic systems be protected with appropriate
surge protection devices. Do not rely on internal Type 3 surge protection featured in some inverters.
CPT-PSC3-12-1000IR
PSC range consists of class 1 and 2 surge protection devices ideal for protection of service entrance and distribution panels in
areas exposed to lightning activity.

Woodward manufacture grid protection relays for solar applications in both anti-islanding and export control format.
Woodward relays are installed in all Australian states and listed as approved in so far as distribution network companies maintain
such listings. Essentially categorised as G59 mains protection relays for Embedded Generators, these relays provide redundant
protection maintaining operation in synchronisation with the mains utility grid.
Note: for Western Australia, ANSI code 59N is required. This neutral displacement feature is provided only on the HighProtec
MRU4 and MRA4 range.
• Configuration software - allowing set-up to meet specific local utility requirements
• References in all states - easier connection approvals
• Full range of capability - one relay brand can meet the large variety of solar PV protection needs
Woodward Grid Protection Relays
Woodward grid protection relays provide backup anti-islanding capability required by some utilities in order to obtain grid
connection approval. This is particularly so at solar system sizes greater than 30 kW.
Monitoring of network mains for voltage and frequency, calculating parameters such as ROCOF, phase shift and reactive power
then initiating a de-coupling action are the relays’ essential functions, and are based on a voltage connection only.
Configuration software featuring visualisation is included. Communications options are available.

Woodward Export Control Relays
Woodward export control relays operate by sensing reverse power flow. Featuring both a voltage and current measurement
connection enables these relays to provide significantly more functionality than basic backup anti-islanding capability required
by some utilities.
The MFR300 relay requires a 12/24 V DC power supply and is best suited to control contactors to open inverter connection(s).
The HighProtec HRA4 range offers control and logic functionality, incoming and outgoing feeder protection and includes
parameterizing and analysing software Smart view SE. This range will accept a wide range power supply and is best suited
for full modulation control of inverter(s) via data communication, but includes other modes of control too.
